YT sold to PE - just like Kona, Revel, and many other bike brands so realistically it's not that different... Did you not understand that or did you simply take my comment and ignore what I wrote in order to make your own point!? I have shut down perfectly functional businesses because either i thought my time could be better spent elsewhere, or I was just tired of doing that thing.again, obv. I hope that the brand returns to its previous position. The more bike brands we have, the better the market it is and YT and Nukeproof are amid the best bikes. Plus you have some guys who can help establish marketing ,I ride with Steve Caballero, hes on a decoy and reps... Worst case in the meantime you can deal with the manufacturer of those components in the USA and work with Germany if you have a frame issue I don’t have time for the politics and drama.
Someone could by the US company and still have not have any bikes to sell! All I’ve heard since the beginning of that brand is how great a deal the bikes always were. I hope everyone loves the “great deal” they got on their YT…hahaaa. Jenson apparently bought all their remainuing bikes. They are in a great situation now with Frameworks and Crestline. YT must be done now, surely no one will trust them again after this?
This is the worst of the failures but how many previous times have they "paused" their racing team then started it back up again? And the marketing is whatever Markus thinks is cool. People these days are way to invested in supporting a brand that was really only created to make money off of them. Who can blame anyone for making big bucks selling to PE and then waitng for it to collapse and buying it back for pennies on the dollar? If Markus didn’t understand what PE was going to do to the company (and all companies they acquire), he’s a damn fool. That perform well for a fair price run by passionate riders. I believe that made a lot of sense at the time and considering no one really seems to be doing this at this point, it would still make a lot of sense.
If they would just switch the lights off then it’s gone for sure. But the fact that YT keeps going and are doing all they can should give everyone that’s waiting on a bike after paying for it hope that they will actually get it. I understand the negativity - partly. The bosch is an awesome motor, this will be a good bike but I'm glad I bought a Transition Regulator as YT suck on so many levels. I planned to sell it ages ago but feel like it's value is now much less. Bye bye YT, any consumers that are the slightest bit informed on this situation will never purchase anything from them again. I for one hope YT pulls through. (just waiting for some richer people in SoCal to buy the core 1 but then upgrade the Powerfish Pokies fork... and then sell me that beautiful white Bomber)

Trek/Specialized/Giant are the same - it’s just instead of contracts with external suppliers, there’s internal commitments between wholly owned subsidiaries. Gonna be a tough time for signings. Hopefully Dylan stark finds a new frame sponsor. Sure the USA branch could buy the designs and up if a price can be agreed and hire design and engineers needed But the ip, design and engineering work was all done from Europe and the contracts were with Europe even if it’s shipped direct to the USA.
How were they supposed to build up engineering, design, marketing, logistics, etc. which make up a bike company? All we wanted was to run our own business. We took care of so many customers the best we could. Most of us have been there for 5 plus years and made North America over 50 % of YTs business. We had an entire organization of employees based in the US that were ready to keep this brand alive. Pure speculation on my part here, but it feels like Markus got a big pay out previously and was hoping to get one again this time around, which in current conditions, isn't happening.

You understand in the PB world they are like hyaenas and don't accept failures and for someone to dust themselves off and return with mending wounds. I just want to get a bigger battery for my decoy... I still think they'll have to offer some serious deals to win people back after the break of trust. Also, would like to see a frame-only option to buy. No one wants to see a brand go under, there are real human beings doing their day to day jobs here. Definitely some names from the last post I hope to hear from on this one..
Developer’s Advertising or Marketing
The only thing that excited me about the brand was the team, and they got fucked, retroactively, by this guy's decisions. Very proud of these guys for buying their brand back, speaks volumes to their commitment to the industry and the customer! Between Revel and YT, this should be a lesson to the industry to not sell to those private equity firms. Did the new PR firm hired to repair the brand image suggest this? My feelings for this brand are gonna be based on this. It’s like the ex that you keep getting back together with but it’s not meant to be and it’s forever tainted. Some people have issues and some don’t.
